"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you" - Maya Angelou, 1969
There reaches a point in many people’s lives where they can feel emotionally stuck and unable to move forward or to see their path ahead. Finding Ways provides clients with a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space to explore their distressing memories or deepest worries and fears. The therapist role primarily involves listening to you and helping you to explore any issues or experiences that are troubling you, so that you can start to find your own solutions to your concerns.
My integrative practice stems from a theoretical perspective that draws from different counselling approaches, including Person-centred and Psychodynamic approaches, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Where needed, a variety of coping strategies including relaxation techniques and guided meditation may be offered.
EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation & Reprocessing) is an important addition to my Practice. My clients have found this therapeutic intervention to be hugely impactful in their recovery from distressing and traumatic memories and experiences and also for their anticipatory fears. This operates as a standalone therapy or can be used as part of a wider therapeutic approach with clients.
Finding Ways works with a range of issues (please enquire), including:
